Pairings are chosen on screening results and structure, never on colour alone. If a test comes back wrong, that pairing does not happen — however pretty the puppies would have been.

Our Story
A small household, a long-standing obsession with one particular breed, and a way of raising puppies we are not willing to rush.
Where It Began
He was supposed to be just a dog
I was fourteen when Dexter arrived — a smooth-coated boy with an opinion about everything and a talent for finding the warmest spot in any room. He was not simply a pet. He was the reason a quiet teenager learned to speak up, and the first creature who made an ordinary day feel like good company.
Everything Lowrider Hounds does traces back to him. Every litter is raised to the temperament he set: steady, affectionate, confident with people and entirely unbothered by a busy house. We are a family of four now — a husband, two children who have never known a house without a Dachshund in it, and a living room that has not been fully tidy since 2015.
We prefer pickups in person. Not because it is easier for us, but because it lets us meet the people our puppies are going home with, walk you through the health file at the kitchen table, and wave you off knowing exactly where he or she has gone.

What We Stand On
Three commitments we do not negotiate
Raised inside, by hand
Our puppies are born in a whelping box beside the sofa and grow up through the middle of family life. They know children, doorbells, hairdryers and car journeys long before they know you.
Honest about everything
Costs, temperament, the stubborn streak, the spine, the fourteen-year commitment. We would rather talk someone out of a Dachshund than watch one come back.
